Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dan Norris, President and founder of J. D. Norris Construction Co., Inc. The CSRA has been my home for over 30 years. In 1990 I began to develop a remodeling company that would provide a full range of services in residential remodeling. Although our main focus is Room Additions, Kitchens and Baths, our customers have depended on us to meet all their remodeling needs and for that we are grateful. Our mission is to provide dependable and punctual service at competitive prices while focusing on one job at a time in order to provide the most personalized attention to detail that kitchen and bath remodeling requires. Over the years we’ve seen the importance of increasing our services to meet the needs of our customers not only in the larger remodeling projects but also in the small handyman jobs. Therefore, we’ve structured our business so that we may take care of home service needs as well. We call it our Home Services Department. Here’s a list of just a few of our service capabilities: • Electrical problems ‘Plumbing Repair Roof Leaks • Masonry Repair • Welding ‘Fence and Deck Repair • Broken Windows • Damage By Theft • Door Replacement and much more, and husbands... We’ll even do your “Honey Do” list. |

Communication JD Norris Construction Co. Inc. values communication. Successful communication provides for and maintains a smooth transition during the remodeling process. Poor communication ushers in misunderstandings and expectations to be unrealistic and therefore impossible to reach. So we focus on communication to be successful and thorough. And we encourage our customers to help us communicate well because it is a team effort between the two parties. We begin during the first phone call; taking down your name, phone number, and address and any details that may be important to your project. Upon our first appointment as we meet with the prospective customer; we listen to the thoughts, plans, and needs the customer presents to us. As necessary, we will interject ideas and advise as needed to assist in your plan. Some people have special needs that are very important to them and may very well be the reason they are requesting the remodel in the first place, others are simply desiring their surroundings to be designed in a way that they can enjoy to the fullest. No matter the reasons; they are important to the homeowner and deserve our utmost attention. So we listen. As we speak, it is a good way to tell if we have understood the things that are important to you and if we communicate to you in a way that demonstrates that we understand what it is you desire; then we are successfully communicating. We need your help as well. Give as much information as possible, ask as many questions as possible and we'll do the same in an effort to leave no stone unturned in our quest for successful communication. Let me give you a fun example of how easy it is to miss communicate. Over to the right is a shape called a dodecahedron.

As it rotates, it creates a visual impression that it is spinning to the right but at the same time it can be said that it is spinning to the left; depending on your perspective at the time. If two people view the image and walk away to discuss their perspective both may assume the other saw what they saw and the ground is laid for miscommunication but if they discuss the topic while viewing the image they can find out if they see things the same; and if one viewer expresses their perspective that it rotates to the right, the second viewer can share that they see it turning to the left and each can then try to see it turn from the other's perspective. Once this is done they can say that they have successfully communicated. Not until we see things from both parties’ perspectives can we say that we have successfully communicated.
